A study of faces through the ages of India, alternating with symbolic images: young untouchables, maharajas, sacred objects, deified animals, plants, landscapes... emblematic of the country's culture and spirituality. The photographs were taken in Benares, Calcutta, Delhi, Jaipur, Ladakh, Madras, Madurai, Mumbai, and Pondicherry.
